Although my main interest lies with portraits and people, I have a diverse range of photography experience: from product photography to nature photography, documentary photography, and fine art. I have 4+ years of experience with Photoshop and I'm skilled with image retouching and editing. I also offer photo/slides/negatives scanning and restoration if you would like your box of old slides to be digitized.
Most of my work is done using 35mm film. I love the look and feel of analog photography and prefer it for portraits because there is a physical product at the end. Computers break, they get stolen, passwords get forgotten, and most of all, everything digital eventually becomes outdated. It is important to me that photos be preserved for future generations to cherish and admire. A book full of negatives on a shelf will be safer, more organized and more accessible than fleeting, unpredictable digital files. Negatives are always included when I do portraits for someone, ensuring that your memories and photos will last through time.
My goal is to create imagery that no one has seen before; it's new, it stands out on its own. I use experimental methods of photography that I have been practicing and developing for five years. My skills really began to develop during my time at the University of Utah. The program I graduated from focused heavily on visual design and communication, storytelling, and technical skills.
I have 5 years of photography experience, 3 years experience in videography, and 4 years of audio and music production experience.
