Dual heaters piped parallel rather than in series with two cold feeds in and two hot feeds out and isolation valves for servicing and isolation in event of failure you can still have hot water. Better performance and efficiency rather than piped in series when the first unit (right) doing all the work and second (left) unit acting as a storage tank and typically fails first in this application. Water line mods with cold inlet isolation valve, pex minimum 4" away from flue, stainless flexes to eliminate old di-electric unions that rot from electrolysis and cause flow restrictions.

Psi check and adjustment 40 min 80 max 60 best.

Expansion tank install 2.1g or 4.5g balanced and set to psi of home.

Seismic straps top and bottom 1/3rd of tank.

1/4 turn gas valve.
